Hope and Help for Families and Friends of Addicts
Welcome to the Mt. Diablo Nar-Anon website. We are glad that you found us. Nar-Anon Family Groups are primarily for you who know or who have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction problem of someone very near and dear to you. You are not alone. We have traveled that unhappy and difficult road too, and have found support, hope, and the possibility of serenity and peace of mind.
In the Mt. Diablo Area, we have active (virtual) Nar-Anon Family Groups in Concord, Cotati, Danville, Martinez, Oakland (Monday Night Group, Thursday Afternoon Group & Saturday Night Group), Santa Rosa & Walnut Creek). Currently our meetings are on zoom & free conference call.
What Is Nar-Anon?
The Nar-Anon Family Groups are a world-wide fellowship for those affected by someone else’s addiction. Addiction is a family disease, and it affects relationships of those close to the Addict . . . parents, spouses, siblings, children, relatives, long-time friends, neighbors, and employers. We who care the most suffer from the addict’s erratic behavior. As a Twelve-Step Program, we offer our help by sharing our experience, strength and hope.
When you come into the family group, you are no longer alone, but among true friends who understand your problem as few others could. We will respect your confidence and anonymity, as we know you will respect ours. We hope to give you the reassurance that no situation is too difficult, and no unhappiness is too great to overcome. Our program is not a religious one, but a spiritual way of life.
